The year 2024 will be full of emotions since it will mark the 80th anniversary of the Landings and the Battle of Normandy. International commemoration in the presence of heads of state, giant fireworks, concerts, parachute drops, balls... The 80th anniversary will give rise to numerous events throughout the year.

In 2024, Normandy will honor the memory of these events and of these men and women who came from all over the world to liberate us.
A regional mobilization will take place to celebrate this major ten-year anniversary. The Normandy Region will be there alongside the Normans.
International ceremony of June 6
The international ceremony on June 6, 2024 is organized directly by the State in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer (Omaha Beach). It will be accessible by invitation only.

Labeled events
To put together a schedule of events which will animate the entire Normandy territory during this anniversary year, the Normandy Region has worked on the labeling of several hundred of them, over a period which goes from March 1 to October 15, 2024.
Freedom concerts at Omaha Beach, Liberation balls, international parachuting of several hundred soldiers above Sainte-Mère-Eglise, etc. The festivities will take place throughout the year and particularly on sunny days. A great way for us all to join in this spirit of fraternity.
