Today, many uncertainties persist about the functions and scale of this place at the time. Remained in wasteland for several years, it was bought by the town hall which reserved a new function for it: a cultural center. Rehabilitated in compliance with the Norman building, it benefits from unparalleled modernity in its renovation and layout. Through this rehabilitation, the city has chosen that this cultural center, located a stone's throw from the center is an additional element demonstrating the dynamism et attractiveness from the community.
This center now includes different spaces: a covered hall, a performance hall, a café space set up in the old vats, an exhibition space in the old grain silo… ;
The Cider House aims to be a unifying cultural equipment on the territory, animation of the city, a pole tourist attractiveness for its heritage and artistic aspect, a place of cultural awareness (school or extracurricular reception, associative projects, etc.) but also a place of creation with the reception of artists in residence.
