Dating from the second half of the 15th century, the Church of Saint Catherine replaced an earlier stone church destroyed during the Hundred Years' War. It was built by the town's inhabitants after the English left. With limited resources at the time, they used wood from the Touques forest and their knowledge of shipbuilding as raw materials.
Listed as a “Historic Monument” in 1879, it is the largest church in France built of wood with a separate bell tower.
