The Desert Manor, classified as a Historic Monument in 1928, was built on behalf of the Le Danois brothers, a family of ship-supply shipowners from Honfleur. It is representative of the noble architecture of the end of the Middle Ages in Pays d'Auge. The materials used, as much as its structure, bear witness to the know-how and importance of this building at the time. The ground floor is made up of a checkerboard layout of limestone and flint. The upper floor is built in half-timbered wood. A staircase turret is attached to the main facade. The lookout at its summit made it possible to monitor the Seine Estuary. This room preserves numerous marine graffiti. Property of Mademoiselle TURGIS in the 1920s, it became the property of the City of Honfleur in the 1970s following the donation made by the Vieux Honfleur company, legatee of Mademoiselle TURGIS. It has just been restored by the City in 2021.
