The Hotel Le Cheval Blanc, model of the Impressionists, in the heart of Honfleur
The Hotel Le Cheval Blanc definitely seems to be the ideal accommodation for an immersion in the birthplace of the Impressionists. If you are looking for a hotel rich in history and with your feet in the water, Le Cheval Blanc is perfect for you!
Built in a former coaching inn dating from the 15th century and located in the historic heart of the city, this hotel was part of the model landscape of several renowned impressionist painters.
Indeed, on the paintings « Honfleur, La Jetée » by Eugène Boudin and « Boats in the port of Honfleur » by Claude Monet, we see this bright white building, recognizable among all: the Hôtel Le Cheval Blanc.
This establishment is even full of a few secrets… Notably room 332. The latter hosted Claude Monet during his stays in Honfleur. The incredible view of the port greatly inspired him for his paintings of the port of Honfleur.
and at the restaurant…
