Nearly 2000 inhabitants of Normandy left for New France with Champlain and his successors.
Despite the difficulties, these families prospered and are today Canadians, but above all Quebecers at heart. Some of their descendants have even written the history of this superb territory…

This tour aims to re-locate the towns and villages of our region from where all these pioneers left.

In search of their roots

Like all Quebecers, These descendants are searching for their roots.
Many of them find their origins, mainly in Normandy, or in Poitou. During their stays in Europe and France, they do not fail to pass through the village of origin of their ancestors in:
– the Eure
– Calvados
– the Pays d’Auge
– the Lieuvin

This circuit aims to to locate the towns and villages of our region from where all these pioneers left, while presenting these municipalities, their attractions as well as the many tourist highlights of the region.
