Jardin du Tripot

L’Impasse du Tripot “Along the water”
Inaugurated in December 2013, this new space is an invitation to stroll, a haven of tranquility, in the heart of the historic center of Honfleur.
Combining history, culture and walks along the water, with a Zen side that inspires serenity.

Located on an arm of the Claire, the garden includes numerous promontories and viewpoints over the watercourse, which are highlighted to the maximum.
This 7m² urban park was designed and fitted out by the various municipal services: gardeners, masons, carpenters, electricians, etc. The technical services teams took care to reuse the materials found on site to carry out the restorations, so the walls retain their original appearance. vestige.
In fact, during the renovation, vestiges of the old tanneries were brought to light. This activity was installed at this location to take advantage of the two waterways.
We can now admire dyer's bins and a whole network of canals in the garden.

The works of Annick Leroy
The artist Annick Leroy was asked to create works related to the places. Indeed, Michel Lamarre, mayor of Honfleur, wanted, in a city that has inspired so many artists, to put art at the heart of this space in order to give it an additional soul.
Annick Leroy therefore created a mosaic fresco recalling the work of the corporation of tanners and dyers.
She also designed two fountain sculptures:
-4 geese spitting water
-a child with an umbrella
as well as a giant snail covered in mosaic.
